Zune Burn on "Chuck"

For those of you who missed it, last night on NBC’s “Chuck,” there was a pretty good Zune burn.  Not only did it seem like every character had an iPhone, they also zinged the Zune.  Watch the YouTube video (before it gets removed!) below.

Obama Assassination Attempt Foiled

The ATF has stopped not only an assassination attempt of Barack Obama but also a mass murder spree.

Read The Story

I've just found the internet…

AT&T Mobility, in my opinion, has hit a home run with some of their more recent commercials featuring Bill Curtis.  They’re typically entertaining and can usually garner at least a laugh from me. I haven’t used the laptop connect card but I do have the iPhone 3G which uses Safari and their 3G network and love it most of the time (unless a website uses flash).

The commercial I like the most is the one at the end of the rainbow with a leprechaun but couldn’t quickly locate that one on YouTube.  So below is a spawn from the Olympics with Michael Phelps.

Family Guy Excerpt… McCain/Palin

I got a kick when I watched the most recent Family Guy episode the other day.  Could the Family Guy crew support Obama/Biden?

ifrogz Luxe case – Follow up

It’s been just about two weeks since I got my ifrogz Luxe case and just took it off for the first time yesterday.  There was a bit of lint/dust under the cover but not more than expected.  The only reason I took it off was so that I could install my Invisible Shield by Zagg, Inc.

Zagg’s website boasts clearer than ever but I’ve had two previous shields and it seemed about the same.  It does seem less grippy than the previous ones.  You could put it in your pocket and things will stick to it.  Like coins, paper, etc…  Hopefully this will be a noticeable change.  At any rate, I’ve been a fan of the Invisible Shield for a long time.  Let’s just hope that I don’t get tired of it again.

Back to the ifrogz case.  It hasn’t marred or scratched.  It still looks brand new.  Some people in other reviews seem worried that the case itself will be a lint magnet.  Not a factor at all.  The only thing I wish I had was a cover for the dock port.  I’m planning on keeping this phone for a while.  I bought the iPhone the first weekend they were out and got the iPhone 3G the morning they were released.  If Apple can pull something out of their hat next year, we’ll see… but I’m not planning on upgrading any time soon.

I’ve included a video of the Invisible Shield on the iPhone.  I only got the front protection rather than the full body since I like the Luxe.

In the end, am I glad I bought it?  Yes.  Would I recommend it to friends?  Yes.  Have some of my friends already bought them?  Yes.  Do they like it?  Yes.  Can’t recommend it much more than that!

"Alaskan Windsong"

I really like Tina Fey. She’s a local gal and I like that.  At any rate, I got a major kick out of her appearance on David Letterman’s show.

Who would've guessed? Colin Powell's Presidential Endorsement

When I was growing up and watching the first Iraq War, Gen. Colin Powell was such a force.  When he talked, you would listen.  Let’s hope people listen to him now.

There's narcissists on Facebook?

What?  I never would’ve guessed.

I’m sure this goes for MySpace.  If you’re on either, I’m sure you know at least a few people that have WAY too many pictures of themselves and probably more than a couple that don’t look like them at all.

Keeping them honest

StarPlayr2 – Desktop Sirius Player

Up until March of 2007, I was a huge proponent of free radio.  Meaning AM/FM radio and even HD radio as an emerging form – otherwise called terrestrial radio.  My logic was why pay for something you can get for free?  Sure, you have to put up with commercials, but you do when you watch TV as well.  Even subscription cable networks has some commercials/ads between shows oftentimes.

But what changed my attitude?  It was my new car.  The car has Sirius Satellite Radio built into it (I’m assuming as an add on by the previous owner).  Not only is there a menu that tells me what type of programming is on, it tells me exactly what I’m listening to.  I believe it’s billed as over 36 commercial free music stations.  There are also a number of other stations that have to be able to afford hosts and programming so there are some with commercials.  I became hooked almost instantly.  The biggest thing that I like about it is that I can get it wherever I go.  Most of my family and many of my friends live about 120 miles away.  When I travel to visit, I don’t have to fuss with the dial when I’m traveling through different markets or listen to commercials.

I was so hooked that I bought a second radio for the house.  I also upgraded the included ability to listen online for the high quality rate.

I primarily used the online player when I was at work.  This was fine.  I had a Windows machine at work which worked seamlessly with their player.  The only problem was that at home, I have a Mac.  I looked and found a player which would work but was sometimes a little shaky.  Then they updated it and it became even more shaky and I pretty much gave in to only using the additional radio at home rather than the convenience of the computer.  Until now.  Now, I have a Mac at work as well as home.  What to do?

I primarily used Parallels and an install of Windows in order to use the online player.  Then I abandoned that when I became aware of Simplify Media.  This alone deserves its own post and review, but in using that on my home computer and work computer, I was then able to stream my own music from home at work or on my iPhone.  It’s as easy as it’s billed.  Free, easy, integrated.

Simplify Media was fine until I grew tired of listening to playlists and creating more (even though this was made easier by the iTunes 8 release).  So once again I turned to Google to see if I could find anything new.  And to me, there was!

StarPlayr2.  Not only do they have Windows desktop software to stream Sirius and XM, they also have a desktop application for the Mac to stream Sirius!  And their site claims that software for the iPhone is being developed – awesome, I can’t wait!
