Somebody needs to practice

When you’re a kid, it’s all about drawing between the lines. When you’re a grownup, it’s all about parking between the lines.

Some grownups must need to go back to school.

Some grownups can't park

The UK gets it… What's wrong with the United States??

Apparently, Fred Phelps and his daughter are banned from the UK

Fred Phelps and his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper had announced plans to travel to the UK to protest a staging of the play [The Laramie Project]. But were banned from entering the country. According a border agency spokesperson, Phelps and his daughter are not allowed to enter the country because their “extremist” hate is considered dangerous.

“Both these individuals have engaged in unacceptable behavior by inciting hatred against a number of communities,” a U.K. Border Agency spokesperson told the Telegraph last week. “The Government has made it clear it opposes extremism in all its forms.

A whopping one protester showed up to protest the play…

More things that happened when Phelps protested Matthew Shepard should happen more often.

A danger of Facebook's notes…

I find it really ironic that I have seen news organizations talking about the Facebook notes such as “25 Things” when these types of bulletins have been around on MySpace since, well… since pretty much you could post a bulletin and have not drawn any attention.

I find that the potential danger in the Facebook note postings are that in the instructions, you are told to tag some friends.  That means that they receive a notice (whether it be in the form of email or just a notification on the site) that they have been “tagged” or “talked about” in the note.

This can definitely leave some of those who have either been tagged or just those who see the activity that you have the new note stumbling across some information that they have not necessarily been made aware of.  It can also lead to an opinion, which was otherwise unknown, be divulged.

And boy, when it happens, you’re not sure whether to keep it in or strike out.  Some responses regarding the postings others have posted have been:

Wow, how can somebody be that self absorved and conceited?

The whole world really doesn’t revolve around you!

Way to take other people’s generosity for granted and turn it into a bitch slap!

Keep on tagging Facebookers!

Children with Nazi-inspired names removed from home

A while back, I posted about parents who named their kids after Adolf Hitler.

I just read an article that the children have been removed by their home and are in state custody.

Holland Township Police Sgt. John Harris says workers from the state Division of Youth and Family Services on Tuesday 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell and his younger sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell from their home Tuesday.

Hopefully we won’t find out something horrible about that odd group!

I don't even know where to begin.

I don’t know who to be more mad at… the store that wouldn’t decorate the cake or the idiots parents who named these kids.  Make sure to read the article.  I do stand by their previous decision to not decorate a swastika previously, however, the kids name should have been put on the darn cake.

The father of 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, denied a birthday cake with the child’s full name on it by one New Jersey supermarket…

ShopRite, said the Campbells had similar requests denied at the same store the last two years and said Heath Campbell previously had asked for a swastika to be included in the decoration.

The Campbells’ other two children also have unusual names: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell turns 2 in a few months and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell will be 1 in April.

I wish we could follow these kids’ adolescence and teenage years… and then followup every few years to see if there’s a rap sheet.

It's really scary when not only lawyers – but police officers tell you not to talk to them

There's narcissists on Facebook?

What?  I never would’ve guessed.

I’m sure this goes for MySpace.  If you’re on either, I’m sure you know at least a few people that have WAY too many pictures of themselves and probably more than a couple that don’t look like them at all.

In Memorium

Ten years ago, Matthew Shepard was beaten and left for dead simply for being gay.

Let’s erase the hate.
