iFrogz Luxe Case for iPhone 3G MIA

I lent my Luxe case for the iPhone 3G to a friend to check it out for a few days.  I’m pretty sure he’s going to order one but I really don’t like letting my phone go naked.  A while ago, I posted about how I usually don’t put cases on my phones but since I got my iPhone 3G and my Luxe case, I haven’t taken it off except to dust it off.  I’ve also kept my Invisible Shield on it, which I must admit is my second one since I took the first one off to try a few other options.

In the comments thread on a post about the iFrogz, I made note that I also bought iFrogz Silicone Sleeve and was not impressed.  That was definitely my knee jerk reaction and I didn’t even attempt to live with that case for even a few hours.

A coworker decided to let his iPhone go naked for a while and lent me his Switch Easy Rebel, black on black.  He’s had it on his phone for a while and I’ve heard similar complaints in reviews and from other places that the bottom of the Rebel starts to sag.  This is definitely true.  So, I’m going to give the iFrogz Silicone Sleeve another shot and I’ll let you know how it goes – at least until I get my Luxe back.

ifrogz Luxe case – Follow up

It’s been just about two weeks since I got my ifrogz Luxe case and just took it off for the first time yesterday.  There was a bit of lint/dust under the cover but not more than expected.  The only reason I took it off was so that I could install my Invisible Shield by Zagg, Inc.

Zagg’s website boasts clearer than ever but I’ve had two previous shields and it seemed about the same.  It does seem less grippy than the previous ones.  You could put it in your pocket and things will stick to it.  Like coins, paper, etc…  Hopefully this will be a noticeable change.  At any rate, I’ve been a fan of the Invisible Shield for a long time.  Let’s just hope that I don’t get tired of it again.

Back to the ifrogz case.  It hasn’t marred or scratched.  It still looks brand new.  Some people in other reviews seem worried that the case itself will be a lint magnet.  Not a factor at all.  The only thing I wish I had was a cover for the dock port.  I’m planning on keeping this phone for a while.  I bought the iPhone the first weekend they were out and got the iPhone 3G the morning they were released.  If Apple can pull something out of their hat next year, we’ll see… but I’m not planning on upgrading any time soon.

I’ve included a video of the Invisible Shield on the iPhone.  I only got the front protection rather than the full body since I like the Luxe.

In the end, am I glad I bought it?  Yes.  Would I recommend it to friends?  Yes.  Have some of my friends already bought them?  Yes.  Do they like it?  Yes.  Can’t recommend it much more than that!

ifrogz iPhone 3G Luxe Case part 2

As long as the tracking information is accurate, my new Luxe case should be delivered today.  I was thinking about posting more review information here but found that a number of YouTubers already have.  Check them out.

I don’t know what it is but I’m not usually one who will put a case on my phones. I’ve tried them and usually end up just taking them off. I was an early adopter of the iPhone and had a case for about five minutes. I then used the phone for about a year without any protection at all and had very minor issues. About the same amount of wear and tear as my previous cell phones. My friends may recognize I have issues with cell phones. Before my iPhone, I would trade up every six months or so and that was stretching it.

Thinking the iPhone 3G would need the protection, I bought a silicone sleeve from the AT&T store and tried to give it a shot. It lasted 2 days. The silicone was floppy and did not hold tight against the phone. Goodbye iPhone 3G case…

That was until I received a new product from ifrogz.

I had to admit that right out the gate, I was impressed with this case. It felt good, it was a slide-on case so there is no gaps where the phone can bounce around and cause damage. Not only is the protection there, it also looks good.

I had seen some of ifrogz’ products at a trade show in April 2008 and thought their iPod nano audiowrapz was a neat gadget for what it was. It gives your third generation iPod nano a nice wrap with great protection. Plus, it has three small speakers for personal listening when you don’t want to use headphones. Of course, being non-powered and small speakers, it’s not designed to be a boombox. None-the-less, a pretty neat gadget.

With the Luxe case, I was really enjoying it and people around the office really liked it.

I lent the blue Luxe case to someone to try out and demo so I’ve been without it for a few weeks and I’ve really been missing it. I just ordered the red one so I can show some school spirit while protecting my phone.

Don’t expect to see my phone anytime without it!
